Sunset over the Corniche

By Rob Pointon

An advantage of painting a desert country with no moisture, is no clouds, and reliable sun cycles and consistent sunsets.
Because we are close to the equator the sun drops rapidly and conditions change dramatically over the course of 30 minutes. The sand in the air diffuses the suns light allowing you to stare straight at it in its latter phase. This diffusion also produced earthy reds in the sky and a very orange light.
